A Musical Journey is another nostalgic book from the acclaimed author Michael King. This book is about the music he has appreciated and changes in musical taste between 1940 and 1970.His journey takes him through the music of the war years - the era of excellent singers and big bands which helped boost the morale of the nation during those grim times. It continues through the immediate post war years and the early 1950s when there were many great crooners around. It then embraces the Rock and Roll revolution which started around the end of 1955 and continued throughout the remainder of the decade and into the early 1960s, the era of the super-stars such as Elvis, Buddy Holly and Cliff Richard. The 1960s saw the start of legendary groups such as the Beatles and later the Rolling Stones and also many famous solo singers.Throughout this time, the author has retained a love of classical music, jazz and outstanding film music, which he also recalls in his book.In order to give his book some continuity, Michael King has written about some milestones in his life, but at the same time, he has born in mind that his book is mainly about music.Available by post from:
